As of 2025, we have been running for the four seasons!\\n\\nFLIGHT (Future Leaders Innovating to Go Higher in Technology) Virtual Summer Camp is an introduction to tech entrepreneurship for girls and gender diverse students aged 13-18 who self-identify as Black and other underrepresented minorities.\\n\\nThis year we are offering two different FLIGHT Paths (camps):\\n\\n\\n\\tFLIGHT Central (Hosted by UWaterloo WiCS) -  open to participants across Canada (outside of the Atlantic provinces) and the Caribbean\\n\\tFLIGHT Atlantic (Hosted by CISE Atlantic) -  open to participants from Atlantic Canada, with a focus on Atlantic Canadian innovation and tech industries \\n\\n\\nNote: both FLIGHT Paths run concurrently and cover the same topics\\/activities.\\n\\nIn this 2-week program, students will work in teams to create a technology-backed business idea around a problem that they identify. Guest speakers will teach students industry best practices from the design-thinking process - including problem definition, market research, and creating a prototype - and coaches work with teams on each step of their project. At the end of the program, students will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for feedback and prizes. We will be using Google Classroom and Zoom this year (information will be sent to all registrants before camp begins).\\n\\n*Note that the schedules on the Fridays, July 25th and August 1st are different. Details will be provided to participants in a Welcome Package. \\n\\nIn this 2-week program, FLIGHT Camp participants will:\\n\\nGet creative! Build a tech business idea to solve a problem in their community.\\n\\nGet inspired! Learn from professionals in STEM and Innovation as they deliver presentations and coach teams to success.\\n\\nGet mingling! Join a one-day conference all about different pathways and careers into STEM and tech entrepreneurship.
