Dinner will be served at the end of the event, so you are still welcome to attend the entire event!\n \nWiCS wants to celebrate you! We believe that having an inclusive learning and working environment in the School of Computer Science is the key to success. We want to help foster this environment by making this a fantastic first-year orientation. Celebrate with us on September 6th by connecting with other women and gender diverse (including transgender, non-binary, and gender fluid) first-year CS, SE, CFM, and CSBBA students, listening to talks from current undergraduates, and enjoying swag and food!!\n\nWhat is WiCS Orientation?\nWiCS Orientation is a welcome event for first-year students to learn how to improve their university experience, learn how to help themselves advance in their careers, and to cultivate a network of friends and allies — people to study with and play with; who can provide advice in good times and in bad; who can refer them to opportunities or to their connections.  \n\nAs as women and gender diverse individuals in tech, it is especially important to have a network of technical peers whose experiences are like one’s own, who have similar interests and goals, and with whom one can vent frustrations and celebrate successes.\n\nThis year's orientation will include (Full Schedule TBA):\n\n\n\tNetworking (meet the people in your program!)\n\tMentoring (navigating first year, study-life balance, academic advice, clubs and societies)\n\tTechnical Resources (part technical, succeeding in co-op, navigating student portals, tools for time management)\n\tFood (afternoon snack and dinner)\n\n\nBRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE!\n \n\n \n", "startDate":"2025-09-06", "endDate":"2025-09-06", "startTime":"14:30", "endTime":"18:30", "location":"On Campus Location TBA - ", "label":"Add to Calendar", "options":[ "Apple", "Google", "iCal", "Microsoft365", "Outlook.com", "Yahoo" ], "timeZone":"US/Eastern", "trigger":"click", "inline":true, "listStyle":"modal", "iCalFileName":"invite.ics" }
