{ "name":"Queer Film Series: Screening of "The Revival: Women and the Word"", "description": "https:\/\/ticketfi.com\/event\/6815\/queer-film-series-screening-of-the-revival-women-and-the-word\n\nEvent Information\n\nIn honour of Black History Month, the Faculty of Mathematics' Queer Film Series is partnering with the Black Studies Program, invites you to a special screening of the film The Revival: Women and the Word!\n\nThe Revival: Women and the Word (2016) is a documentary, directed by Sekiya Dorsett—a queer filmmaker—that follows a US tour group of black lesbian poets and musicians who are leading the charge of a historical movement to build community among queer women of colour.\n\nThe event will open with a short brief of the film then proceed into the film (runtime 80 minutes).\n\nThe screening will be followed by a reception co-sponsored by the Faculty of Mathematics, Black Studies Program, National Society of Black Engineers, and Black in Math. Light refreshments will be served.\n\nAdmission to the event is free for all to attend, though registraton is required. This event is open to the general public, so feel free to invite family, friends, and community partners to register.\n\nAccessibility\n\nWe strive to make our events accessible to all participants.
